    Good morning.

Is it possible, with your plugin, to have the same functionality as it currently does but with the addition of doing the same with already published posts?

I have removed the publish pages capability, but had to leave the edit_pages, edit_other_pages and edit_published_pages. This gives them only the options to edit all pages, but I also want them to all be moderated (whilst keeping the older version live on the website).

Is this possible with your plugin? I’ve tried tinkering the capabilities but I need the edit_published_pages because I need these contributors to edit live pages.

    Thanks in advance,
    Steph

    Hi Steph,

Yes, it is possible to do so. You are correct, you’ll still need the edit_published_pages permission for your users. You can just remove the publish_pages permission and it should work fine.

    Hope that helps,

    Eric

I am having the same problem and wanted to see how this had been resolved. The role I am trying to require moderation on has the following permissions checked:

    edit_others_pages
    edit_private_pages
    edit_published_pages
    edit_pages

    read
    read_private_pages
    read_documents

When logged in with this role, it appears that I’m still able to publish changes to page content without having to send to the workflow. Furthermore, the content in the editor for all users (including the user in the restricted role) does NOT reflect the change that the restricted role just published. What am I missing?

I know all these issues were discussed quite a few months ago.

I’m wondering if anything was ever resolved, i’m having exactly the same issues with revised pages being published instantly but still entering the workflow

I have not been able to duplicate this in my environment. Can you please list information about your setup?

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    I’m running wordpress version 3.5.1.

Using Members to create the author and publish with the admin role.

    Author has the following permissions:
    delete_pages
    delete_posts
    edit_others_pages
    edit_others_posts
    edit_pages
    edit_posts
    edit_published_pages
    edit_published_posts
    read
    read_private_pages
    read_private_posts

The problem occurs if a member of author or administrator create a page and a member of author then edits the page

Let me know if you need any other information

    thanks

    Hi Eric,

I’m also using your plugin and have encountered exactly the same issue as reported by the other users in this thread. I have WordPress 3.5.1 (and BuddyPress 1.6.5 if that makes any difference). If a user can edit_published_pages but cannot publish_pages then changes they make are not automatically submitted into the workflow, they are instead published immediately. If the user edits the page again, the content does not show the new updates.

I was hoping to use this plugin on a site that is going live imminently as it’s the best fit for my requirements. Have you managed to recreate the issue or do you need some more information from any of us?

    Thanks and kind regards,
    David.

    Hi All,

If anyone is interested, I opted to use the following plugin as it ticked all of the boxes I required:

Hopefully it may help you too.

    Regards,
    David.
