[Plugin: Special Recent Posts] how to show post from a single category [special recent posts plugin]

I am using platform theme
i am using special recent posts plugin because all other plugins dont have shortcodes.

i tried putting [srp] as the short code on the page i wanted to show the recent posts and it showed the latest posts.

two problems-

1. how to show only particular pages with short code or any other means.

2. how to show posts on a page from a single category through shortcodes or any other.

for example:
i have a page of games and i want to put all pages written on games with thumbnail and excerpt.
