• I installed/uninstalled/installed/uninstalled over and over and over again and I keep having this problem. Everytime I login with the generated password, it all goes well. So when I go to change my password, it logs me out (as usual) and then when I go to log in, I can’t. Wrong Login/Password. The first time it allowed me to login once using the new password, but then I went to login the next day and it didn’t let me. Now, when I go to the login page, it just says “Error: Wrong Login/Password” without me entering anything and it doesn’t bloody go away. I thought uninstalling it would help, but nope, nothing. Any clue as to what may be goin’ on? ‘Preciate it.

  • i’d suggest looking at your wordpress database and the users table. there is a field called user_pass that contains the database for each user, and apparently it’s unencrypted. this way you can look up the password for admin or whatever, and see if it’s mysteriously been changed or anything.

Well, i had the hardest time with this, I finally figured out (thanks to your tip about the database) that even though it let me change my “nickname” the login name was still “admin” …. that’s gotta be the most confusing “feature” ever.

Alright, I’ll check all these things. I’m running a firewall, yeah. IE 6.0, don’t have more than one WP on the database. Yeah I’m trying to change it with the popup box, there’s no other way is there? Well, I’ll give it another shot. Thanks folks!
