• Seems like this update is causing a lot of problems for everyone. For me, the Twitter and Facebook buttons are now just standard buttons without the counters. The html code seems to have changed and since I manipulated the css, it broke the sharing part of my layout. I’m thinking about disabling the feature and just adding the buttons manually.

  • This happened to me as well plus the font changed. Would be nice if Jetpack told us why this was/is happening.

Seemed like unnecessary code change that would break user themes. Disabled yet another feature of Jetpack because it’s causing problems for my website. Now I hand coded Twitter, Facebook, and Google+.

Changes happen. Anytime you modify a plugin’s functionality, you take the risk of things breaking, as has happened. There is not much that we can do about it.

In this case, we have a more modern version of the Sharing tools available at WordPress.com that we are porting into Jetpack. Jetpack 1.6.1 was the first round of this port and caused these breakages you have noticed.
