• My hosting company say it’s a plug in issue and we’ve cleared the active plugins from the database and reactivated them. Nothing happens for a few days then it goes down again so it’s impossible to tell which plug in causing the issue.

any help/tips/advice – is there no kind of log that shows me what is happening at the time of the down?

My hosting company say it’s a plug in issue and we’ve cleared the active plugins from the database and reactivated them.

Even inactive plugins can interfere with your site functions. Delete inactive plugins, if any.

To find out which plugin is troublesome, deactivate all plugins. Then activate anyone plugin and check if that makes any difference. If that is OK, deactivate it, activate the next plugin and continue the process. One plugin only at a time.

If all plugins are OK, it can mean three things:
    1. One or more plugins can be outdated/ incompatible with the rest of your software.
    2. One or more plugin might not have been updated by its author in recent times.
    3. Your theme can be outdated/ broken or having other defects.

Please try the above. Possibly, you can solve the problems.
