• Recently, I wanted to change my theme in WordPress so I used my maintenance mode plug in to shut down the website to any external viewers. As I did this, when I loaded the next page, it gave me the maintenance mode message. Ever since, I have not been able to access my website AT ALL! I keep hearing people talking about deleting the “.maintenance” file but I don’t have a clue what it is or where to find it!

To see the message it brings up go here: http://www.macawmarketing.co.uk

Someone please please please help me on this!! I have put so much work into my site.

  • Too late response but maybe will help someone else.
If you have a problem when installing a plugin, just access your installation file using an ftp program like: Filezilla (free)
And delete the plugin folder in : /public_html/wp-content/plugins/
    that’s all
