• I am having trouble creating the application. After adding an App Name and App Namespace and then entering the Captcha information, I get the error “Your account must be verified before you can take this action. Please verify your account by adding your mobile phone or credit card.” I am then expected to “Continue” which brings back another Captcha page, whic then brings back the error, which then brings back the… you get the idea.

The problem is that the mobile phone I use actually belongs to the company I work for and texting is blocked so I can’t receive any texts sent for verification of that. Also, I refuse to enter my credit card number on a site where I have no intention of buying anything.

Is there any way around this?

  • Your problem is not related to the plugin, but the politics of Facebook, and you even have the answer: have a personal cell phone. How do you live only with the phone of the work?

I do not want to carry two smart phones. Why carry two devices that essentially do the same thing (except text)? I am required to carry one for work. And I know dozens of people I work with that do the same thing. That is how I “live only with the phone of the work”.

There has to be a way around this. Not everyone who wants to cross post from their personal blog to Facebook has a cell phone, do they?

All that remains is to use alternatives that do not need to create an application, as RSS Graffiti or Twitterfeed.

Or use the phone number of someone else’s home or family.
