• WordPress SEO v1.2.5
    WordPress SEO News v1.0

SEO > XML Sitemaps > XML Sitemap (checked/enabled) & Google News Sitemaps (checked/enabled)

In a new or existing post > checked the box under WordPress SEO by Yoast > Google News tab > Include in News Sitemap (checked) and selected “Blog” from the Google News Genre drop-down.

Even after submitting or re-submitting the post with those correct settings, nothing is being added to the news-sitemap.xml XML News Sitemap.

I can bring up the news sitemap page, but it just notes “This sitemap contains 0 URLs” and the table below it with no entries.

I’ve triple-checked all settings across the board for the plugin.

  • My news sitemap had urls in it…As I added new urls, they would show up.

I changed the published date on a post from November 2012 to today to see if Google News sitemap would have the post included…..I think it erased all urls…now I get”

    This sitemap contains 0 URLs

What can I do to fix this?

Figured it out…..for some reason, the excluded categories section in Yoast News plugin had all of the categories that I wanted included marked as “excluded….and vice versa.

So, I updated a post and now have one url in the sitemap…

How can I bulk add posts to the news sitemap???

Sorry for the cross post but this is precisely the problem I’m having. All the settings appear to be correct and the news sitemap shows 0 urls (The other sitemaps are fine).
