• I was wondering if there’s an art gallery theme available for WordPress (I don’t mind if it’s paid), with functionality similar to: http://www.artmangallery.com.au/ (Drupal powered)

The artist page is a simple thumbnail page with a ‘hero’ piece for each artist. When clicked, you’re taken to the artist page with a bio on the left and the rest of their artworks on the right. Enlarging the artwork reveals further info about that piece, plus a full sized image.

The exhibitions page features the current exhibition, with the option of viewing a page of past exhibitions in listed format. Clicking on the exhibition gives a quick bio on the left and the artworks on the right – similar to how the artist page presents.

Stockroom page displays all artworks which are categorized, with the option of filtering by artist and/or medium.

All the rest of the pages are pretty straight forward.

I’d like my non-technical client to be able to add artists, artworks, and exhibitions themselves. Can somebody please point me in the right direction, or let me know if I’m asking too much out of WordPress?

  • WordPress can do this. Suggest setting a budget and hiring a professional for best results. It would be a long tedius process to whittle away at it via support forums.
