    Hello all.
I’ve been trying to implement a flash movie in the header of my theme. I’ve tried this several times in the past, and it didn’t work.

I’ve tried the solutions from several topics, but the movie still doesn’t align properly.
You can see what goes wrong @ http://test.joolz.nl
    Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

First thing you do is change the background color on that movie so you can see the borders. (And, more importantly, so we can). I really dont want to download your site and drag out a buncha top-secret flash tools to change your background.

Ok thanks, but, I need to change the background color on my movie… :+
I hope I have the source lying around here somewher πŸ˜€
    (I think I left it @ home :’))

i can change it if that helps (it really would make it easier)

I will change it as soon as I get home. Don’t have the source here, and the one I’ve created is locked :'(

    Locked shmocked πŸ˜›

here it is, in white, the contrast will help heaps in fixing the alignment — http://www.village-idiot.org/broke/header.swf

I may not get a chance till very late this evening to look but i promise to if you havent fixed it by the time I get home.

    Good luck!

Ok. I’ve put the header.swf you created in the folder, overwriting the other one :+
Thanks very much by the way…

I still don’t know what to put in the header.php to make it align properly… :'(

you have the original somewhere, yes?? so that when this is fixed you can put it back?? If not, I do (least in my cache, i do)

your site isnt loading for me, btw

    (@jo0lz)

Yeah I have the original images. I will of course put them back when I get it fixed πŸ˜€

I was having some timeouts just now, but it’s working now…

ok, I re-did the code in header.php, it was destroying the layout in IE. (sigh…)

I know have no problems with width anymore, the stylesheet is ok I think, but the whole swf file is still getting lowered with one px :'(

    (@jo0lz)

    Hey Whooami, check out http://joolz.nl.
I’ve found a solution, but I doubt if that really is the right way. The header sfw is 760px by 170px. So is the original header image.

What I did is cut the top pixel off the swf file. Now it works ^^

Bit stupid though, that the swf (with the same dimensions as the original gif) isn’t the same size. Maybe it’s because it’s not in the stylesheet, but in the header.php, using the object tags.

I’ve found another topic, where people have the same problems. I’ll go and post there, as this topic is really “resolved”. :’)

It doesn’t seem to work in IE :'(
But it does looks nice in FF πŸ˜€

    Thanks for all your help!

ie sucks, whats the problem? the alignment? or it just doesnt display?

    Thread Starter jo0lz

    (@jo0lz)

    BOOO-YEAH! πŸ˜€
Well, it didn’t show at all at first.
I looked at the code, but I was stunned at what missed.
Made Dreamweaver spit up some new code, and just went on and fiddled with it some…

Now, the header was showing, but the darn thing was 1px off to the right! nooooo!
So I looked ath the stylesheet and realised that was my own fault.

Cleared that up and now it’s working! πŸ˜€

    I’m so happy right now πŸ˜€ πŸ˜› πŸ™‚
