• Hey everyone,

Is it possible to change the coding to let WordPress upload files into a different directory. I’m talking about the upload box which is below the text editor.

    Thanks,

  • Check Options:Misc.

    Could you be more specific???

Changing the address in the Options:Misc tab doesn’t work because WP automatically sends you to the WP folder on the server. I don’t want images to be uploaded to the WP folder, I want them to go to a folder at the root level of the server.

This worked fine for me in WP 1.5, but the same setting doesn’t work in 2.0.4.

I suspect that it has something to do with the fact that WP no longer has a Directory URI input box, just a Destination URI box.

I have a similar problem, but with me I get this error:

Unable to create directory /home/boybeat/public_html/images/blog. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

Do I have to change the chmod??

    Your guess is right 🙂
“parent” in this case is “images”, I think.

    Thanks guys for your help.

In reply to xonie’s question, I have my target directory for the uploading to chmod 777. [All ticks for all groups and permissions crossed.]

    Cheers again =D
