• Hi everyone,

I have searched high and wide in Google and in these forums and I just simply can’t find what I am looking for, and I am starting to get really frustrated. Is there any plugin that would allow my website visitors to submit files? I basically want visitors to be able to upload media files (mp3 and mp4) to an “uploads” folder on my server. Ultimately, I want ionly registered users to be able to do this (so I want the upload page behind the login). please, anyone help. I am going completely crazy. I’m sure someone must have done this before or there must be some sort of public file upload plugin for WordPress. Thanks.

  • Maybe this plugin http://www.ilfilosofo.com/blog/old-style-upload/

Might also find need for the Red Alt (Owen Winkler) Role Manager Plugin but that author’s website is down for repair.

    Hi MichaelH,

I tried that plugin, and it is currently activated, but I just don’t see anyway of letting public users submit files (unless I am missing something). The upload feature is only available when the admin is logged in. I created a test user and logged in and didn’t see any upload function. Am I missing something here?

In Options, Uploads, try lowering the Minimum Level to Upload.

    Hi again,

In “Minimum Level to Upload” I put it all the way down to 10 (there is a range from 1 to 10), but still when I log in using my test yuser account, I don’t see any option to upload files. I should note that my users are by default “subscribers”. Does this make a difference?

Atariman, should that be level 1 not 10? Level 10 is admins. Level 1 is subscribers?
