  • I’ve successfully built a couple of sites with taxonomies but feel I’m still getting it wrong.

    I don’t understand the point referenced here:

    In a nutshell, why I can’t use taxonomy-{taxonomy}.php to list my terms

    I still don’t understand why if I create a ‘taxonomy-therapies.php’ template for instance with the registered taxonomy of therapies, why I can’t use that taxonomy page to list my ‘therapies’ terms, subsequently linking on to the single.php and end term as a single post.

    As it stands my structure is this:

    Home (page.php) => Therapies (page.php) => Acupuncture (taxonomy-therapies.php)

    Which is wrong, as I now have to create a duplicate template by styling up single.php to mimic ‘taxonomy-therapies.php’. Essentially I’m one template up.

    What it should be is:

    Home (page.php) => Therapies (taxonomy-therapies.php) => Acupuncture (single.php)

    Successfully ending on single.php, no?

    I Know I’m wrong but I don’t know why.

    Can anyone put me out my misery?… please.
