I try to delete the blogroll catgeory , get a popup asking if I am sure, click yes and then nada happens.
I see undernath where it says "These are the defaults for when you call a link category with no additional arguments. All of these settings may be overwritten."
Processing Data
Is that the default category?
What version of wp?

Did a search with different words and found a post that resolved my issue.

the issue is that the Blogroll category is defined as the default category for the links. You need to change that before you can delete the category.
Dashboard -> Options -> Writing -> Pick a new one for the setting "Default bookmark category" and click on the Update Options button. You should be able to go back now and delete the category.

Thankyou!!! This has been one of the least intuitive things in WP yet. I've been flicking between the Manage > Categories and Blogroll options in v2.2 to figure this out for about an hour. The documentation is a bit vague about it too.
