Issue with images since WP 3.4 upgrade

    Hi

    Since the upgrade to WP 3.4. I have had this issue with adding images in the media section:

    1) I upload the image as usual, by drag&drop.
    2) The usual thumbnail of the image then doesn’t appear but when I click to scale the picture etc I can see it.
    3) Upon saving any changes again there’s no thumbnail image anymore, just the text description I gave the image
    4) I go to the article and want to insert it with the ‘add file’ button, as usual.
    5) Where the image should be I can only see a placeholder while in the backend; when clicking preview I see only a white space with the text description of the file.

    What could be the issue here??

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.
