• Hi all,

Helping a mate out with his website. Have it hosted on CrazyDomains.com.au and uses Fantastico to run. Same setup as my own personal site.

I am trying update to WordPress 3.4.1 & also update the Plugins & Theme.

When I try to update anything on the site I get the following error:

“Unable to locate WordPress Root directory.

    Installation Failed”

I have checked the FTP settings and they all look correct.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers!!

    Also get the following error:

Unable to locate WordPress Content directory (wp-content).

Don’t understand as nothing has been moved. It’s a pretty standard/default installation!!

Can you post your site URL?

Backup your site, including database, and deactivate all the plugins and replace the theme with a freshly downloaded copy of Twenty Eleven.

I’ve tried that(and tried it again as you directed) and I get the message that I posted above:

Unable to locate WordPress Content directory (wp-content).

A scan of your site shows this: http://joesanchezjoinery.com.au/wp-content/

Login to your cPanel or File Manager at your hosting account and check where WordPress is installed. It must be at your root.

Yes. That is correct. It is installed in the root which is why i am baffled!!

PS. Thank you for your time and patience 🙂

I am trying to verify my site with McAfee and I cannot locate the root Web directory on the Web server of my site to copy their file for them to verify it.
