Create Catagory List view Search page???

Hey, Im trying to create a sort of search page for my catagories, basically im making a web site (obviously) and im looking to get some sort of content search for a database of information. If this make no sense look at this : http://www.gamespot.com/games.html?platform=1029&mode=top

My site is still in early development but im kind of at a block here, i need this working before i go ahead and create a bunch of posts for it :/
