• Hello everyone,

I have a restaurant page in wordpress that its been working great for more than 6 months but, suddenly today when I go to my contact page where my contact form is gives me the following error:

    [contact-form-7 404 “Not Found”]

The code from the form on the page is the following:

    [contact-form-7 id=”135″ title=”Contact”]

What I don’t understand is that how is it that from one day to another I get this error on the plugin, because I did not make any technical pages anything at all, I did not update wordpress or plugins, did not change any configuration, or any changes on the hosting, nothing at all.

The form is made with the plugin Contact Form 7, the form code is correct on the contact page, because its been working fine for the last 6 months.

Even if its a bug, I cannot understand how it affects my blog since i did not update use the same version since the begining of this blog, I tried solving by updating plugin, reinstalling plugin, removing plugin, erase form, create new form but, nothing seems to work, I keep getting the same error. I been trying to search on google for a solution but, it seems that most forums even don’t solve it or the solution did not work for me.

So, please help me out because it is very frustrating and I dont know what else to do.

    Regards + Thanks!

  • Can you replicate the problem using the Twenty Eleven theme with all other plugins deactivated?

    Hello esmi,

before anything thanks for the reply, sorry, I cannot do that because I got a lot of plugins on and I am affraid that all the arrangement and everything with them would get mess up. If you can assure me all data will remaing the same when I reactivate them, I will give it a try.

    Cheers!

I am sorry but this is part of the most basic troubleshooting process. Unless you are willing to go through with it, then we can’t really help you.

If you can assure me all data will remaing the same when I reactivate them, I will give it a try.

The only assurance that I can give you is that most well-written plugins will retain their settings during deactivation. But I cannot vouch for every one of the thousands of plugins out there.

Any ideas what is wrong with the contact form 7 plugin?

It’s not the CF7 plugin. Something else on your site is stopping shortcodes working. The only other thing I can suggest is that you reset the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. But be warned: this may cause some of your plugins to lose their settings.

How do I do that? I have to erase them all and reinstall them or what you mean?

    Cheers!

Please see the link I posted above.
