  • I also have this issue. Running WP 3.4.1, bbPress 2.1 and bbPress Threaded Replies .3

I’ve updated the plugin to be bbPress 2.1 compatible. Please let me know if you have any problems.

I am still having one issue here. After “Reply” link click, the reply form moves under the current post to be replied to. But… the form area is not “clickable”.:-( I am not able to write any reply into the reply form and submit.

Otherwise everything seems to work fine.:-)

    Any help?

One more observation… the problem described above by myself is valid only for Fancy Editor on. If off, it seems to work OK.

Anyway, thanks a lot. This was one of the last things keeping me on the old BBPress 1.x

I tested with the Fancy Editor on, with stock Twenty Eleven, Twenty Ten, and bbPress (Twenty Ten) (bbPress 2.1.2 and 2.0.3, WordPress 3.4+). I didn’t pick up any JavaScript errors but that is what this sounds like. What happens when you click “Cancel Reply”?

    Fancy Editor bugfix in 0.4.2.

Is this version 0.4.3 of bbPress Threaded Replies working with bbPress (version 2.1.3) through buddypress 1.6.1 and the buddypress default template on WordPress 3.4.2?

The only thing that I can see that’s happening is that the Fancy Editor disappears on the frontend.

I would really like nested replies for my forums but it seems like I have to abandon bbPress to get that (or try to code it myself).

    I’m running the following:
    WordPress 3.4.2
    bbPress 2.1.3
    bbPress Threaded Replies 0.4.3

    Here’s the result: http://uncommoncontent.com/forums/topic/test-topic

Excuse me, it was working for me as well after all but I was confusing submitting a new message to a thread with replying when I tested the functionality.

Too bad about the missing Fancy Editor (or any type of editor) but you can’t get everything I guess.

Thanks for your reply and your work with this plugin.

I’ve gone several rounds with the Fancy Editor but I’ve been unable to find a workable solution that doesn’t break down in various browsers.

Ultimately, this design choice came down to the known issue of TinyMCE being incompatible with DOM movements (such as those where the comment box moves around on posts and the reply box moves around on topics). I’m still hopeful that I can get the Fancy Editor to work with DOM movements, but in the meantime, I felt it best to disable it rather than frustrate users with strange browser behaviors.

When installing the plugin it seems to only remove the editor, there is no reply on the side like on your example.

    This is bbpress 2.1.2

“Reply ↓” only shows up on the replies, not on the topic itself. I’ve got a test version running under WP 3.4.2, bbPress 2.1.2, and bbPress Threaded Replies 0.4.3.
