• Hello

I just intalled WordPress and currently playing with it. My website is http://www.toonhaze.com so you can see how it looks so far. I want it to be a simple animation website with a gallery of swf/flash animations.

1). How do I remove all the stuff to the right? Categories, Archivies, Tags, etc.

2). How do I specifically define what my front/home-page looks like?

    Thanks so far 🙂

  • 1) I guess this is the default sidebar. Go to ‘appearance’ ‘widgets’ and drag the widgets that you do want to use to the sidebar.

    2) ‘settings’ ‘reading’, you can set a page (if you have any) or the last posts for index.

Search bar was theme based, so I changed it, but someone also suggested editing header.php and removing the Searchbar entry from there

Another question: how do I make a simple gallery of animations? I was thinking of making a little list of small thumbnails I can use as cartoons and every time someone clicks on Toon1, it goes on Toon1 page and plays the the animation (embeded SWF file).

Any idea how to achieve this? I appreciate all the help

WP has a standard function for this. Just upload a bunch of images into a post and insert them as gallery. You can also style it, just click on “docs” on top of this page and look for gallery. There are also plenty of gallery plugins.

Oh wait, animation will probably a different story. I was talking of just images. Click on ‘plugins’ above and try to find a gallery plugin that does what you are looking for.
