• Before I start, I know there are lots of membership site plugins around, but they are over-featured and expensive, and are not what I need.

Basically, I am setting up a job board using WordPress and the JobPress them from web2feel.com. At the moment, everything works brilliantly, with job posting, editing, different layouts and such.
Most importantly, recruiters can sign up for an account, and they can post jobs.

The problem, is that I want recruiters to have to purchase a monthly subscription, in order to post a particular amount of jobs per month.
I know it sounds complicated, but it doesn’t need to be complicated.
In terms of the subscription payment, I’d probably just need a PayPal subscription button on the registration page, and I would activate accounts manually through the dashboard.

The thing that I want to nail is how to set a limit to the number of posts a particular role member can make. Let’s say a new recruiter signs up and pays for their first month – they will be able to post 5 jobs in that month, beginning from their date of payment. If they try to post another job, a warning will appear, saying that they have run out of listing ‘credits’, and must either wait until the month is up, or upgrade to a a higher-level account. If they haven’t used all their credits at the end of the month, the count is reset (so no carrying forward of credits). Note: the ‘credits’ will only be a figurative thing, just something that represents the number of posts left.

That’s it. Nothing else. No restricted pages, hidden galleries or anything like that.

    An overview:

    – Recruiter signs up and is sent an invoice by email, containing a link to the PayPal subscription checkout.
    – By default, the account will be an inactive ‘Subscriber’, or something like that. Once payment has been received, I will manually activate the account, which will trigger the ‘Your new Password’ email to the Recruiter. They will now have the correct permissions to access the Submit Job page, after logging in. Sorted.
    – I now need to work out a way to limit the number of jobs that they post per month.

I’d really appreciate any help, as this is something I need to get sorted fairly soon. My current job board solution is fundamentally broken, and has lots of errors that I’m pretty sure are driving potential recruiters away.

    Thanks,

    Tristan
