• Is there a way to add a redirect for permalinks where the original structure was /postname/ and the new permalink structure is /year/month/postname/?

I’m hoping there’s a solution by modifying the .htaccess file.

  • Hi

For this you would need to know the old permalink for every single post you have, if you have changed the permalink structure I doubt you still have this.

If you do you could create a .htaccess rule that redirects to a WordPress query that gets whatever post they want within criteria that matches it.

Hello – so any redirects would have to be on a post by post basis? One redirect for every post? It seems like there should be a way to create an .htaccess rule that could make it easier. I’ve had to fix broken links caused by permalink changes multiple times before and I’ve never had to redirect thousands of links manually.
