YouTube videos not showing up
-
I placed the embed code that YouTube provides in my post, but it showed up as a broken link on front end.
Am I doing something wrong?

dont use the rich text editor, for one thing.
Thanks for the lead. I’ve followed these directions:
1. Login to WordPress admin
2. Go to Options >> Writing
3. Uncheck both “Users should use the visual rich editor by default” & “WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically”My problem is that in number 3, I do not see the option for “WordPress should correct invalidy nested XHTML automatically.”
I do not see the checkbox in my ‘options>>writing” — am I looking in the wrong area? As of right now, I still can not embed YouTube videos.
Disable wysiwyg
Users -> Your Profile.
Scroll to the bottom.
Uncheck the last checkbox. Save.Ok, update — I’m blind. I see the “WordPress should correct invalidy nested XHTML automatically”
I’ve unchecked that, went back to my draft, refreshed, and it still doesn not display the YouTube embed.
Am I missing anything?
<– points 1 post up.
You’ll have to re-paste the code into the editor if you already did into that wysiwyg thing.
And frankly, at the rate you’re going, you really should just grab one of the dozen or so video plugins to make this easier on yourself next time around.
http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins/VideoI’ve heard good things about vipers.
Ok, new update:
Users > your profile — the last checkbox is unchecked.
Options > write — the two options are unchecked.
http://www.kencauley.com — YouTube video still doesn not work. I’m sorry for so many questions, i’d just like to figure this out.
As I said: repaste the clip into the editor. If you pasted it into the wysiwyg and saved, it was hosed up.
But, somehow I think you’ve missed my last 2 posts due to overlap.
Above techniques still did not do the trick. I’ll try one of the plugins.
I have had good success with this plugin:
Extreme Video Plugin

there’s a really simple plugin over here
Okay, I’ve done everything suggested Including using a plug-in. All a no go, is it possible that there’s a server side issue? IE. read/write settings on a folder?
I created a plugin that uses the bracket method to include YouTube video’s. Try it:
