Most Recent Single Post link feature request

Hi WordPress folks! I have a feature request:

A simple function that creates a dynamic link to the most recent single post.
It would work the same as the default widget that gives “recent posts,” but this would be something you could use within a post or page, that links directly to the most recent single post.

For an example use, on http://publicdomain4u.com/ there’s a sticky post where you’ll see a link that says “Click to begin!”

Every time I update the site, I manually update that link to the latest post. I looked around for a code that’ll do that, but the ones I found seem like overkill, and I saw some other people wanting this ability, so I figured I’d request it, why not! Thanks for all your great work, I loooooooooves me some WordPress!
