[Plugin: Recent Posts Slider] Slider Not Showing on Home Page

I’m trying to insert the Recent Posts Slider into the homepage of my blog, by inserting <?php if (function_exists(‘rps_show’)) echo rps_show(); ?> into my style’s index.php. Unfortunately, I have not been even able to get it to appear. What do I need to do to get this slider to show up?
