[Plugin: Event Organiser] Import .ICS file not properly importe the categories

    Hi,

    I checked this plugin and have nice feature but have very serious bug that i found earlier before i add my 100’s events.

    I export the event .ics file. All events are in my .ics file so i check how import features work. SO again i delete all my events, Category and venues from admin. And after that i import the exported .ics file.

    Event are add 🙂
    Venues add 🙂
    Categories not created 🙁
    Event have venues which in unlinked mean when i click on my event title
    the Venue : meta box is empty and its not link to venue that i added in venue section.

    Its possible to upload CSV file for import events.

    It’s currently not possible to upload CSV files for events. I will look into this for a future version.

    Is the .ics file created by exporting in Event Organiser – or is this from another plug-in/third-party software?

    I’m not sure what you mean by ‘Event have venues which in unlinked’. Do you meant that the venues are created, but not the events are not correctly assigned to the venues?

    Hey Stephen,

    So I imported the ICS file but for some reason when I do that it cuts text off of the title of the events as well as the body.

    Anything I am doing wrong?

    Hi Max,

    Is the the event title and body cut off in the ICS file, or is it there in full? Where did you generate the ICS? From Event Organiser?

    The ICS file was imported from Google Calendar.

    And are the titles / event content in full in the ICS file?

    The ICS file looks complete, the issue is that once its imported to WordPress it seems to cut off about half of the title text as well as most of the body text when pulling it from the database.

    Hi – I have found the same problem: the titles and the content are truncated by the import process but are fine in the original ical file (which came from outlook originally)

    This is odd. Would either of you mind e-mailing me a copy of the ics file (my e-mail address can be found at the top of event-organiser.php, just above the license information).

    Seems Google Calendar and Outlook are putting line breaks in the event description (and title) – didn’t think that was allowed. I’ll look into updating the importer to take this into account…
