• I have been getting this message after I upgraded to the new version of WP. “An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.”
This error happens when I try to search for plugins in the admin area. Also it seems my admin area is running very slowly. Does anyone know what’s going on here?
It seems the new version has problems.

It seems your theme Styx from Theme Forest is causing the problem because it is compatible only with WP versions up to 3.3.

Your WordPress installation seems to be flawless. To make sure that what exactly is the cause of the problem, try the following:
    1. Deactivate all the plugins, and switch to Twenty Eleven theme.
    2. Activate plugins one by one so that you can check if the problem is caused by any plugins.

The above steps will help you decide where exactly the problem is. After that if the theme is not compatible, contact Theme Forest support. If plugins cause problems, look for their compatible versions and replace them.

I have disabled the plugins and have found the Admin area to work better. After I start to add the plugins, how long will it take to start to effect the admin area? Yesterday I disconnected the plugins but it didn’t immediately correct the problem. To day it running better.

Do you face the problem when you use the Twenty Eleven theme? Did you try that?
If the issue is related to plugins, you have to locate the plugin causing the trouble by deactivating and activating plugins one by one.
Also, note that inactive plugins can also cause such problems. Either delete them or rename them if you have inactive plugins.
Check the date when the plugins were last updated and their compatibility with your version of WP.

It’s running smooth now with the plugins deactivated.
I have turned on two plugins of them to see if the problem comes back.
I didn’t try to switch to Twenty Eleven because the admin area seems to be running better with the plugins deactivated. So I think it may be a plug in.

If so, try to locate the plugin which causes the problem by activating them one at a time.
