I’m not sure, but it might be something with my template. I disabled the Jetpack comments and it’s working fine now. But, if anyone has any ideas around this please let me know.

I have the same issue – I logged in with IE and when I hover over the post link/button, it seems to direct to jepack.wordpress.com/jetpack-comment/ which is a broken link. When you click on the post button, nothing happens.

Hopefully someone will come to the rescue and give advice, but the forums seems dead now lately, I posted a few question, but only answered myself 🙁

Like I said, you answer yourself. Anyway, made progress, I deactivated jetpack and everything works fine, I can post now so the issue sits with Jetpack and not wordrpess.

    So steps to take:
    1. Deactivate Jetpack plugin

    2. Delete Cache

    3. Reactivate Jetpack plugin

    4. Delete Cache

    5. Connect Jetpack with your wordpress site

    6. All done – Delete Cache

    Cheers!

Now I’m gonna go nuts! It’s working in Google Chrome and not in IE! I cleared by browser cache – restarted and still no luck in IE

    De-activate any captcha plugins…
    It works !!

    Hi Murali,

That does not solve the issue, even after deactivating the captcha plugins.

When I deactivate the Jetpack plugin, everything works fine. When I activate it and connect to WordPress, it works fine… But when I open a new browser session, the “post” button does not work on the comment box!!!

    This is really frustrating.

    Any Assistance – anybody???

I am now convinced that it’s Jetpack plugin. I went as far as deactivating all plugins and used buddypress default theme >> Reactivated all plugins except Jetpack and all was working fine >> activated Jetpack and the issue occurred again.

    Any assistance please?

Same problem here. Enable the comments feature in JetPack 1.4.2 with WordPress 3.4.1 using the Suffusion theme and when you confirm the comment you get a 403 Forbidden error in wp-comments-post.php

Disable the feature (Learn More button in JetPack feature page, Deactivate button) and comments begin working again. No need to disable the plugin, just this (comment) specific feature.

Edit: It’s like Brownstone73 says, above. The new “Post Comment” button links to http://jetpack.wordpress.com/jetpack-comment/ which is not quite what I expected. Either way, that’s a broken link.

The old “Submit Comment” button (with the JetPack comment feature disabled) links to where you’d expect …your wp url…/wp-comments-post.php

So, don’t know what’s going on here. Can’t find anywhere to configure the comment link …

Okay, so this is the full story:

If you go to Settings >> Discussion >> Uncheck “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” and it works, only problem is… Anyone can comment which is really not what I wanted as I prefer users to be logged in 🙁

Is there a way around this? Anyway, I’ll send this thread to Jetpack support and see if there is a way around this.

On this link – http://jetpack.me/2012/06/14/jetpack-comments-now-available/ at the bottom note the following:

“if you disable guest commenting, visitors will not be able to use this option in Jetpack Comments”

Still waiting on Support to get back to me!!! Might move to Joomla or Drupal, hopefully support is better on that side of the world

Final decision on Jetpack comments, not only is the commenting an issue, it takes a few seconds to respond as well, it first make a call to wordpress.com and then back to your site:

Solution: Deactive Jetpack and hope for a fix before activating it again 🙂

Guess what – my site operates a lot fast as well.

    Check it out… http://www.sweepbook.com

All working by removing captcha, so it does not seem to work if you have a captcha.
