The submenu isn't output if menu item parent and child are the same

    My menu is like this:

    PageA
    — PageA
    — PageB

    I need my top level navigation so select the first child of the selected item, that’s why the repeated PageA.

    When the menu is structured like this, however, the submenu’s html isn’t output at all. Usual patterns with children differing from parents work as expected.

    Does anyone have a solution for this?
