i am creating an information site for a client. we have hundreds of documents in pdf form. and they are in folders on our computer. the idea is to have these categorized and searchable on the web. so far the only plugin i have found is ‘document links’, which is very basic. i do have a couple indexing programs i had used for the html version of the site, these will index PDFs.

  • Hi.
There is really no need (and it is not allowed) to post the same quesiton twice. Thanks for understanding.
About your question, I think your best bet would be to set up a custom post type (Custom Post Types) or a custom taxonomy (Custom Taxonomies) for your pdfs (depending on your needs), and they would be searchable in both cases.
    Cheers!

thanks – guess i hit the submit button twice. can the duplicate entry be deleted, i don’t see a way to do it.

as for the subject of PDFs being searchable, i will give your suggestions a try later.
    thanks, again.

Don’t think that was the problen. Both posts are not identical.

    Sounds good.
    Good luck.

it is taking me a while to learn taxonomies, but i did find a plugin: “List Yo’ Files”. It does one file at a time and has its own categories.
