• Hi, Takayuki,

This is Susan again. I’m the one who sent Emanuele, the author of Keypic, your way. The web-site is now–finally–live under its real name, http://www.progressivedemcaucusfl.org, with CF7 happily secured by Keypic.

CF7 is such a good plugin and so easy to use that it seems as though adding the SSL capability would make it just that much better! That way, we users could have some forms that were, well, https, and some that were just http.

Again, you have such a good product. Why not make it exceptional, right? For instance, one of my forms is a membership form that asks for people’s date of birth. Some might feel uncomfortable giving the full date–with the year–because of all the identity theft that goes on these days on an unencrypted webpage. If CF7 gave me the ability to have an https page, I could calm at least some of the concerns, though we all know there is no such thing as a completely secure Internet!

Do please let me know what you think. If you don’t agree how much it would add to your already very good product, then I’ll have to figure out how to add SSL to the page with your form on it myself. I’m still pretty new to all this stuff . . .

Thanks so much for your help,
I hope you received my donation,
    Susan

SSL is transport layer security, it is not what a contact form plugin should manage, even if it can. Instead you should consider making whole site on HTTPS compatible environment. There are several plugins help you make it. Contact Form 7 should work on HTTPS without problems.

    Hey, Takayuki,

Ok, thanks for responding. I was so hoping to be finished with the major changes to the site.

I had looked at one of the SSL plugins and found that it was described in language that was aimed at people who are real developers rather than to me. That seems unhelpful. That’s my problem, not yours, of course.

    Thanks again for considering,
    Susan in Tampa
