[Plugin: Gallery] Amend font on caption text

I amusing Gallery v3.06 on WordPress 3.4.1.

I wish to change the font in the caption text and can’t seem to do it through the stylesheet – I tried combinations of this
.gallery-caption {
color: #000000 !important;
font-size: 12px;
margin: 0 0 12px;
}

Can you assist?

Aldo if I use the plugin page and request an update to the plugin, it show as up to date and I believe you have version 3.2?
