Search engine indexing with .htpasswd

Hello,

If I make my blog private by using .htpasswd to protect the directory it is installed in (thus giving a password prompt when trying to view the blog), will search engines still be able to index the blogs contents?

The contents of my blog are confidential and so it is important that no search engine index’s what is written on it.
