After a little bit of work, I was able to get the installation to work nicely. I have been trying to post test articles and it does not appear to be posting them at all. WordPress control panel is working just fine and showing the posts, but it wont show the posts in the permalinks it says they are located at. I am getting 404 errors – so it is not posting these properly.

From a trouble shooting point of view, this is a little vague, but I can answer all questions coming back to me.

    1. I am using cpanel for controlling mySQL database.
    2. I am hosting with Apache.

If neccesary, I will pass along the domain it’s hosted at.

    Thanks,

    Hendy

trying to post to http://www.dodger.ca/blog/ to test for now.

Once all the bugs are worked out and work the posts into the bands website template, we’ll switch it over.

I have been reading as much as I can to try and figure out how to work around this. I wonder if I have to make some setting for the mod_rewrite rule to work properly?

    dodger.ca/blog/ = 404 Not Found.

    Get a 404 on /blog.

    Does that help?

It helps… in a way. There is something wrong either with your server or with your whole installation. None of the usual “checks” (like finding the default stylesheet, trying to log in, trying to go to the admin) work.
There is always a blank page with <!--
    -->
in it. Nothing else. Always the same.
    Did you contact your host?

I reinstalled the mySQL database and started fresh. The /index.php page seems to work now. I just had a new website template made and I want to plug into the posting functionality of WordPress into this.

Hopefully this supports it. I have read up as much as possible and it only speaks of using pre-defined WordPress templates.

    Crossing fingers…
