That data is stored in the wp_postmeta
table of your database.
Did you perhaps install another SEO plugin that might have imported the data into its own system and deleted the data from SEO Ultimate?
ok found a batch of them in the db but they are not showing when I open the post to edit.
Don’t think they did. I installed it fresh a couple years ago.
No. confirmed with them. No other SEO plgins installed.

Do the titles and meta descriptions appear when you go to the batch-editors under SEO > Title Rewriter > Posts or SEO > Meta Descriptions > Posts?
Nothing. I looked in descriptions, keywords and rewriter. In modules everything is enabled except nofollow. Under plugins it is active.
(I do see some in the db using phpmyadmin _aioseop_title, _aioseop_keywords, _aioseop_description)

Those fields that you see in the database belong to All in One SEO Pack, not SEO Ultimate. Perhaps you entered your data into All in One SEO Pack’s settings box below the post editor instead of SEO Ultimate’s?
If you want to use that data in SEO Ultimate, go to Settings > SEO Ultimate > Import > Import from Other Plugins > All in One SEO Pack > Import Now. (Be sure to back up your database first.)
Very funny. I took some heat for nothing!
Thanks for the info. Import went perfectly AND I discovered a neat plugin!
Thank you very much!
