Mygallery upload/thumbnail problem.

Hello!

I have a big problem when it comes to the “mygallery” plugin.
Some images are successful to upload others are not.

When an image fails to upload I can see the image appearing in the “myfotos/gallery” folder on the FTP but the upload page just hangs and want me to download the “admin.php” file???. It also results in allot of errors in the “real” gallery, also no thumnail is created. I then have to go to “Gallery Management” and delete the image for the errors to go away.

Is there som kind of tag in the script thats not allowing images over a certain size in length/width or in kb to be uploaded?

I’ve noticed similar problems on a site hosted on a shared server plan. The server times out when uploading large pictures through the myGallery interface.

With this host, I’ve found that 800px by 600px is about the max for single photo uploads, and no more than 7 or 8 photos batched is the max for zip uploads.

If you’re on a shared host, I’d recommend manually resizing your picture prior to upload. Hope that helps!

Check the upload file size limit for your server. Most shared hosting has a cap on maximum post (php upload) size.

If you are using the latest version of MyGallery you should be able to check by going to the “Info” link, clicking on the “phpinfo” link and looking at what the “post_max_size” item is set to.

If you are trying to upload large files or a large number of files you might be exceeding that limit.

Strange. I have a directory with over a 1000 images on a shared service.
Using: Import pictures from a folder on the server:
I was able to get a few hundred then reaching a limit could run the import again, which about 5 or 6 tries would get the full directory.

I just upgraded the WP to 2.2, then uploaded the new MyGallery 1.4b7

Now I can only import about 5 images per try.

Checking php:
upload_max_filesize 100M 100M

So that’s not it – I am running into some type of limit, but doesn’t appear it’s PHP.

Other suggestions?
