Diverted on mobile!

I have been running my site on WP for quite some time now with no problems. Over the weekend one of my clients told me that he had tried to access the site using his mobile to get the postcode for his sat nav. When he dialled up the address he was diverted to a Rumanian ‘lonely hearts’ site – complete with sanscrit – I also tried this with my B.Berry and had the same result!

Access is fine using B.Band with business as usual- has anyone had the same problem. This only seems to have been happening for a week or so.

This list of links has been found to be useful to others previously in cleaning up their websites. You can use these links to undertake the cleanup yourself or you may prefer to hire someone to clean it up for you.

The easiest & quickest way to clean it up might be to restore your last known-good file & database backup if you have one.

According to the scucuri scan, the malware seems to be coming from a javascript file. My guess is that it only perfoms its redirect on mobiles so that it may not be seen by the site owner for a while & can stay active for longer before being discovered by the site owner & cleaned up.

Thanks for your time and the articles. As I didn’t build the ting I’m not sure what apps my bud used and, therefore, what is and what is not needed so i could delete in case it was one of those. Anyhoo – I just downloaded the new WP platform and database etc. Checked the mobile and it all seems to be tickity boo now so it’s bulk password change time!
