• I know how to use FTP, and I know how to use html and all that basic stuff, but I’m new to WordPress, and installed it via Bluehost and Fantastico. While using WS Ftp I see a variety of foldera and files, but I don’t see “wp-content/plugins directory”. So I can’t add any plugins. Or least I don’t know how to. Is this folder on the admin panel for WordPress, or should it exist in the ftp view as well? I’m very confused. I don’t even know if I installed it correctly, though my site appears online and works ok. I’m just confused as to whether I only work off my admin panel, or if I can use ftp and the like. And on top of the that I want to edit my pages with ftp as if they were html driven. Is this possible? Sorry I’m new but I’m useless at this point. Thanks!

  • Where ever your blog is installed… under that is /wp-content and under that is /plugins. Right next door to your /themes folder which you’ve apparently already found. 😉

I added the Mesozoic theme folder to my plugins folder through my FTP program, and it’s there, but on my admin panel it doesn’t show the plugin. What am I doing wrong? And where do you edit each page by page html? Thanks by the way!

Don’t forget that theme goes into theme folder and plugins go into plugins folder…

No html to edit — only the .php in your particular theme. The .php will read the actual content from your database and create a .html that is then displayed.

Yes, make sure the Mesozoic theme folder is in here:

    domain.com/wp-content/themes/
    ——————–classic
    ——————–default
    ——————–Mesozoic

    Plugins go here:
    domain.com/wp-content/plugins/
    ———plugin files/folders
