  • It’s not a dumb question, what is dumb is that Google made it so complicated.

Anyway, you can find the answer on the Backup plugin’s setting page. Just click on the help button on the top right of the page.

For others reading this, you need to go to the Google APIs Console and on the API Access page you need to create a client ID for web applications. A client secret will also be generated for you. You will also need to add register a redirect URI there. For the Backup plugin the URI is something like http://example.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=backup&action=auth.

    Thanks!

Can the backup be both done for google drive and file path in your own server?

I noticed that I can do one or the other, not both. This will be very helpful if it is available.

Backups are always created on the local filesystem first and then uploaded to GDrive.

You have the option of choosing the maximum number of backups you wish to be stored both locally and on Google Drive.
