Let me ask you first, are you trying this on a WordPress Network? (Check this out: http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network). This plugin only works in the WordPress Network version.

Hi Jose, I’m experiencing the same problem as iauan and I am using this on a WordPress Network install my WP version is 3.4.1. My installation utilizes subdirectories instead of subdomains, would that make a difference? When I try to implement the widget, I get a blank widget. When I try to put the plugin on a page, I get a blank page.

I don’t know why that would change the plugin’s behavior but I will have to check it out. I’ve been too busy to improve the plugin.
I can’t give you an answer right now but I will set a network to test this and eventually patch this bug. Thanks for your feedback, I will let you know when this issue is solved.

Just to keep you posted about this, I haven’t forget about this issue. I finally finished my internship so I got some time to code. I tested this in a Network with subdirectories and I can confirm the plugin doesn’t work as expected.
I’ve completely rewritten network latest posts, and of course I’ve been checking everything in a Network I set up for testing purposes which is using subdirectories, so far so good, everything is working now.
Besides that, I’ve added new functionalities and got rid of some unnecessary and buggy workarounds.
I’ve almost finished, so stay tunned ;).. Once again, thanks for your feedback and for your patience.

I’ve tested the new version on my main site and my network laboratory which is installed in sub-folders. I confirm it’s working now. Update to the new version and let me know if it works for you as expected.

By all appearances, this seems to be the best “latest posts” widget around for all intents and purposes. Any chance you could make it work without requiring multisite?

Well I’ve been thinking about that, some people have asked me about that possibility. It seems WordPress core function to display recent posts isn’t customizable enough.
When I have the time to work on this I will try to release a NLPosts for single installations.
