• Hi,

I got a problem for which I’m not able to find the correct solution. I got two multisite installations: MultisiteA and MultisiteB. The first for development and the second for production.

I’ve been working on a blog on development (MultisiteA) and now I need to transfer it to production (MultisiteB). The thing is that the original site for which I’ve been developing does already exist at MultisiteB.

I would need to transfer the blog from MultisiteA to MultisiteB managing to take over domain, and data from MultisiteB.

    any idea?

Do you need to transfer the entire install, the themes and settings, or just one sub-site on the network?

I would need to transfer from MultisiteA to MultisiteB a complete child site, including: Theme, Widgets, Settings, Content (posts, pages, comments, etc), etc. Leaving all the other child sites from MultisiteA intact on MultisiteA.

    From:

    + MultisiteA
    – child site A
    – child site B
    – child site C
    + MultisiteB
    – child site A1
    – child site B1
    – child site C1

    To:

    + MultisiteA
    – child site A
    – child site C
    + MultisiteB
    – child site A1
    – child site B1
    – child site C1
    – child site B

    Ow.

The ‘easiest’ way is the one that doesn’t bring your theme settings. Export and import will pull all the data over. Posts, pages, etc etc. Also users.

You mean the Export/Import option that comes with WordPress. But isn’t there a way to Export/Import a complete child site?

No you can’t export a complete child site.

Has to do with a few things, like the way users are collected in a multisite.

Your making your tasks so hard

Why not transfer only your users from MultiSiteA to MultiSiteB? Then switch the domains?

That would be much more easier compare to transferring the Theme, Widgets, Settings, Content. That would be too bulky to handle IMHO

    As what @ipstenu said:
