Is there ANY way at all to force the auto-excerpt to display links as within the original post? The client does not want to have to input a specific excerpt, and I can find nothing in the Codex or the forum archived posts back to day 1 which says this can be done.
And very frustrating if it won't do it too! Whose bright idea WAS that anyway?
Can you use the excerpt-reloaded plugin instead? It lets you use whatever tags you want.

Hi Ian - I just a moment ago ran across it on the Codex Plugins page. Yes, I believe that will fix it, thanks to both you and Kafkaesquí! (And where on earth IS he these days, anyway?)
Indeed the excerpt-reloaded will allow you to specify which html is allowed in the excerpt (including images)
I saw him peek out on a hackers email, otherwise, he hasn't been seen (even his blog is lacking posts)

I would like to say that this plugin is a GODSEND. It does exactly what I needed, and exactly what it says it will do, and Kafkaesquí saved my bacon again with a client, for which I am VERY grateful!
Wish he'd "reappear" - I miss him!
Thanks again, guys - I did find it myself while digging further, but had I not run across it, I'd have been really thrilled that you pointed me to it!
