Thats the first I have seen that error. It must be a new thing that Dropbox has implemented.
How often have you seen it?
On almost every backup, though it does seem that the plugin picks up after awhile.
I’ll post more info on it as I see more.
Ill have a look at rate limiting the upload if the plugin encounters that error.
Hopefully my app is not getting too popular for Dropbox!
I have the same error.
Backup error on 2012-06-19 at 06:41:14: Exception – Forbidden. Your app is making too many requests and is being rate limited. 503s can trigger on a per-app or per-user basis.
Did your plugin stop after that or it continues to send the document online?
I have implemented rate limiting in version 1.1.
@pureenterprise On encountering an error uploading a file the plugin will attempt to upload the same file 5 times before giving up and logging a warning. The backup will fail if 10 files fail to upload.
I’ve updated the plugin on my site and now it seems the plugin is running forever. I never see a completed message. What I see now on the Backup Settings page under History is this:
Backup started on 2012-06-30 at 01:27:00
Backup warning on 2012-06-30 at 01:24:04: Backup stopped by user.
Backup error on 2012-06-30 at 01:14:51: Your Dropbox account is not authorized yet.
I had to re-auth the connection to the Dropbox account then it didn’t seem to be running so I stopped it, then started it again.
Well, it’s 12:45pm on the 30th and on the Backup Now page is this:
12:46:17: Backing up WordPress path at (path here, which is correct)
12:47:08: Processed 6794 files.
with the “Stop Backup” button below that.
I can’t tell whether the backup is finished, I don’t see any “backup completed” message in history.
@llriggs-llriggs That is a separate issue that has been logged before.
The 503’s seem to be resolved.
