    New install? Change anything recently?

Yes it's a new install. Now I just downloaded everything the other day. It's a new blog and new template. I've turned off all of my plug-ins exept the widget plugin from automatic. So I don't know what it is.

Sidebar Widgets comes with a 'scriptaculous' directory; Where did that get installed to (path)?

My blog is at adamkoehler.com/blogging. The path to the 'scriptaculous' directory is

    adamkoehler / blogging / wp-content / plugins / widgets / scriptaculous /

Try moving it (or copying) to wp-includes/js ? This isn't supposed to be an issue anymore, but it has popped up.

    Then test again...

Okay thanks, I'll try that. I'll be back if it doesn't work. I really appreciate it.

I've copied the 'scriptaculous' and pasted it so now it looks like this.

    adamkoehler / blogging / wp-includes / js / scriptaculous /

My sidebar widgets are still stuck in place. They don't move at all.

Could javascript be getting blocked? The drag/drop functions are js...

The only other option occuring to me is to re-upload the files in case something didn't make it intact.

EDIT: Make sure you're not running any admin-themeing plugins while testing.

I'm using IE7 and I've tried it in Firefox and neither one worked. So as far as the javascript being blocked I don't think so.

I've deactivated all my other plug-ins except the widgets by automattic.

I'll try re-uploading the widget plugin and see how that goes.

Anymore ideas would be great. Thanks for the help so far.

    Your theme doesn't support widgets.

Yes, I switched back to the original theme I was using because my widgets were not working in any of the "widget ready" themes...

I am having the same issue. I made sure javascript is enabled. I have tried it in Firefow, IE6 and Safari on Mac, PC and Ubuntu. It doesn't work. :( I made sure to copy the scriptalicious folder to the js directory too.

Ever since installing it, my sidebar dissapearred even when it is not activated.

This is really a hard thing to debug without having your browser, your computer, and access to your account for the website.

The short of it is that the javascript code is either a) not making it to your browser or b) not being run by your browser.

It's one of those two. Either you have the scripts in the wrong place or you have them disabled or maybe you have some kind of security program blocking them or something else. There's no way to guess what the problem might be, other than to say it's definitely on your end of things.

Sorry. Find somebody local who can help you.
