• Hi there!

I am abut to start having ads on my webpage and i successfully soled a few. I was really new to this so when finally learned how to get my ads where i want them, i get askedd to put two ad tags into an ad.

First of all, how exactelly does the ad code looks like, where in code do i put it?

Second of all, i´m not really sure what he means and the client didn´t answer me while i asked him to explain (guess he thought i should know…). He wrote(i have a blog community for pregnant women and mums) “if i give you two tags – can we then direct towards pregnancy ads and after pregnancy/kids”..?
He will have the panorama banner place and the add will be shown 24/7 all pages, all blogs. What exactelly is it that he wants to do? Measure what? All our clients belongs to those two groups, I might be stupid now but how can he measure who comes to the site to read what (if that is what he want..?)

It is a multisite by the way. Does that change anything..? Will he collect all data correctly when it´s a multisite (i ask since not even google analytics or other stats seams to be able to do that).

    THANKFUL for help.

    What ads?

WP doesn’t come with them, so you must have set up the ads with a 3rd party. They should have their own directions.

And Multisite doesn’t matter code wise. Data should be fine, provided you set up your ad service (adsense?) to know that the subsite is yours. They’re separate sites. You have to add analytic to each site 😉

Ads im selling to third party, companies of interest, can buy ad space as banners. I used the plugin advertisement management. I just put the code in the box for the plugin saying “ad over header” and voila!

I suppose the company buying ad space will give me those two tags he is talking about, but where in the code do i put them and how are they supposed to look..? 🙂 just a word..? Like this: <pregnant> or should i be given an complete code..?

Im sorry, im really lost here.

My client said “if i give you two tags can we then direct them towards…” – dosent that meen he wants me to direct..? Im just not sure what he meens or want to achieve by that, do you?

Also, im not sure about your answer above, if the last sections answer only applies to the stats or if you meen i have to do something to make the ad tag coding work..?

    Wow, im really confused.

Finally, im not using an affiliate program to get advertisement, i prefer to sell the ads myself. Is that a problem when clients want this “tagging”..?

I understand that i have to set up analytics for every site though… 😉

None of that (ad stuff) is to do with Multisite. It’s how you want to run your site with your ads.

If the guy gives you complete code, you use that. If not, you’ll have to ask him what he mwans 🙂 Welcome to running a business.
