  • The ‘table’ is called posts. With a default install it would be wp_posts.

    ok .. whats fim_cat ??

dhanesh, if you have a backup of your WordPress DB, just open it using Word(& not MS Word). You will see all the DB Tables and beneath each table is the description and the Data.

It’s not enough to import only the table with the posts. Every post MUST be assigned to a category and that’s in another table.
Why are you over-complicating it, dhanesh?
Import the DB and after that you can change delete whatever setting you don’t like.

thankx moshu .. i did that finally .. i also put every post in its catgory .. it was simple .. u just had to impot the wp_catagory in too .. 🙂 … and i deleted the rest of the tables b4 i imported the file.

To answer your question .. i made it complicated because .. i am kinda paranoid and when it comes to order and arranging .. i am a freek .. i just needed to do all the user and blog settings my self .. but impost just the poast to their resp catagories ..

I went tru the sql backup file .. and then figured out what each table ment .. so now its fine i guess 🙂

Thankc for all the help .. appriciate it 🙂

    Regards.

And, I guess, the post2cat table, too – otherwise I doubt it will work correctly. I hope you figured out a lot of tables are inter-related, so you cannot take them out arbitrarily…
    Good luck!
