Posted 3 years ago #Dear "whooami": Although I appreciate your taking the time to comment, I regret that your response is not, in my opinion, a helpful one, since -- as the administrator of a blog with many users -- I cannot know, or predict, which characters a prospective user might attempt to use when attempting to register.
And -- given the profusion of operating systems, character sets, human languages, keyboards, etc., which are available to users all over the world -- it would impractical for one person to experiment to discover all possible characters.
Especially since -- WordPress being a computer program -- there is almost certainly a simple rule, albeit undocumented, which would answer this question.
Although you and I do not know the rule, I expect that some more savvy user of WordPress will know the rule. I hope that person will take the time to respond to this query.
