HTTP Error 404 – Not found

I am relative new to WP and have great problem with my installation at my hosting provider, even working through the Cpanel.
After going through everything and downloading WP to the server (in the directory of the domain, NOT ROOT), reading all the files including: index.php, wp-config.php and .htaccess files which all appear correct I am unable to log into the WP dashboard, htaccess file are set with 755 permissions.
When I write the domain name I get a message: Index of /
