photo uploader not working properly

I am having problems getting the photo uploader to work properly on my site…at least all of the time. It’s not computer specific because I have three other users contributing to the site (http://www.carbuzzard.com).

When things go wrong, we’re either getting an “http error” or it times out with 0 bits transmitted. However, the photos are transmitted to the gallery and we can post them to the posts…but there are no captions, and with a size of 0x0, I can put the picture in at its actual size, but if I try to have a larger photo and a small or medium thumbnail, it won’t work.

And anyway, it’s not working like it should.

I’m not a techy, so I paid someone to help me reload wordpress, just to be sure that I hadn’t corrupted it in the transfer of my site from GoDaddy (because subscribe2’s http version wouldn’t work there) to HostGator. I was having probems with the photo uploader at GoDaddy as well, but I hoped that would clear up at HostGator. (I know, whistling in the dark…).

I also deactivated my most recently installed widget (nRelate Related Content) to see if that was causing the problem, but no joy there.
