I’ve seen a lot of posts about how people hate the admin bar and there’s a lot of plugins now that let you hide it. I wish to remove it but there seems to be a problem I haven’t seen addressed: If there is no bar, how does a user easily return to the front page since there doesn’t seem to be a link in the Dashboard for this?

The “Home” button just reloads the Dashboard, which I see no point in. Maybe this link could be altered to load the front page instead? Let me know what file to change this in.

Try ensuring that you have entered a site title in Settings -> General.

Yes, I have a title. There is still no link that I can see. Am I missing something? The title shows only in the admin bar.

Can you see the Admin bar in the back end of the site? The link to your site is on the far left.

Did you read my post? I want to remove the admin bar. How will one click a button on the admin bar when it isn’t there? All the plugins I’ve found remove the bar both on the front page and in the dashboard.

And how in the world do you quote a post in these forums?

Okay, I found a plugin that removes it only on the front end. thanks, problem solved.
